Help and Files for our New Users

In an effort to make your use of NetK2NE as easy as possible, we have assembled a few help files and utilities that you may find of great help when setting up your computer to use our services.

It is impossible for any "help file" or "FAQ" file to completely answer every conceivable question, or to anticipate every possible problem, which may arise during the setup of something as complex as TCP/IP Networking over a dial-up modem line. What we are trying to do with this set of "helps and utilities" is to give you enough tools to do the job on your own.

If you are a Windows 3.1x user (which includes Windows for Workgroups, but not Windows-95), then you should select the box entitled Our Windows 3.1x Internet Utilities and then you should download the file called netk2ne.exe which is one of the options available from that page. There are other Windows utilities available from that page, but netk2ne.exe is absolutely essential, so you should get that, and install it, before you do anything else.

If you are a Windows-95 user, you should look at the selections available for your use in setting up your machine for dial-up networking under the Windows-95 Operating System. The issue of Dialup Networking under Windows-95 is not a "cut and dry" thing, and it seems that the developers of Windows-95 have gone out of their way to make this anything but intuitive or easy. But rest assured that once it is done, and once you have successfully completed the process and gotten your machine to talk to NetK2NE under Windows-95 that it is solid as a rock and does work well.

If you are a Mac user, you will find several handy net-related items in the table further down this page.

If you are a UNIX/Linux user, please call our office to discuss the availability of suitable scripting for your machine.
