About Our Personal Account Prices

It is no secret that there are internet companies "out there" that will sell you access to the internet for $15.00 per month, and sometimes slightly less.

In an effort to put this in its proper perspective, we recently visited the web-sites of these companies that are also near or local to our coverage areas.

And here's what we found:

Yes, you can get a SLIP or PPP connection to the internet for $15.00 a month.

If you also want a Shell account, that costs more (usually around $10 a month extra).
At NetK2NE, it's included!

If you want a personal web page, it either costs more ($10 a month or more) or you are required to by a shell account in order to set up and maintain the web page. And some ISPs are charging for both of these separately! At NetK2NE, it's included!

So guess what?

By the time you add in everything which we include in our SLIP/PPP Personal Dialup Account, you are at or over our rate of "$75 per quarter" (that's $25/month) and you are absurdly over our yearly price ($200.00).

And one other thing you should know.

Our pricing includes all applicable taxes.

Let's take a look at what that means.

Remember - we do not charge extra for 56K!
A good number of the ISPs in this area don't even offer you 56k!!

And in case you have not yet noticed, AOL's price structure (effective April 1, 1998) is $21.95 per month (plus tax). At the end of one year of AOL, you will have given them $279.12! Such a deal...

Didn't a New User One Year Account cost $250?

Yes, but not any longer! We have found that the new and improved Internet Access capabilities of Windows 95 have streamlined the process of getting a new user hooked up to NetK2NE, and after closely examining our cost structure we have decided that there is absolutely no reason to charge a new customer one penny more than we charge for renewing the same account a year later.

We will do an "in the home visit" if a new customer wants that, however there is a fee, usually no more than $50.00, over and above the cost of the account. Most folks do not need this service, so we no longer incorporate its cost into the "new account" subscription.

Here is the full schedule of prices, with everything broken out into monthly cost and pre-tax monthly cost so you can compare it for yourself!
